Will there be a season? How much of a season will it be? Will there be a conference tournament? These are questions we still do not know the answers to. However, if and when there is a season the best players will continue to be the best players and shine above the others. Here I will give you a list of some potentials that could win the coveted Tewaaraton award.

  1. Michael Sowers(Duke)- We know where he stands in the history of the college lacrosse. Princeton’s All time Leading Scorer, over 300 goals, over 120 goals, you know the deal. Now he joins Duke?!! Having Matt Danowski as his offensive coordinator might make him even more a threat depending on how they use him. You can tell me about the other guys at Duke but great players adjust no matter who’s around them and Sowers will once again be in the Tewaarton conversation.

2.. TD Irelan(Yale)- If it weren’t for Michael Sowers, TD would have been first on my list. Had the season not shut down I think he would have given Sowers more of a run for his money than most people would have thought. He is undoubtable the best face-off man in lacrosse and he might be the guy that the new standing up rules benefit the most as he can use his fast twitch and quickness to his advantage. I expect TD to once again have a monster year and continue to re-write the history books.

3. Joey Epstien(Hopkins)- Hey remember me? Being in and out of the lineup in 2020 due to a nagging lower body injury Epstien was never really able to get it going in 2020 before the season shutdown. However it was just back in 2019, where he was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and had 73 points as a Freshman! Now under the tutelage of one of the best to do it in John Grant Jr, I expect Joey to come to the fore-front of college lacrosse as everyone expected him too as a highly rated recruit coming out of high school. Watch out Big Ten!

4. Jared Bernhardt(Maryland)- He’s coming back! Once going to play football at Ferris State, Bernhardt has decided to return to Maryland for his fifth year and he will be the leader of a Terps team looking to make it back to Memorial Day Weekend. I would expect him to be the leading scorer for the Terps and his impact to be made both on and off the field.

5. JT Giles- Harris(Duke)- Oh defenseman shouldn’t win this award! They will never have the opportunity! Stop that non sense. JT Giles Harris is a man amongst boys when he is on the field. ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2019, Lead the team in caused turnovers in 2020 and I firmly believe that had he went pro in 2020 he would have won a rookie of the year award( Sorry Grant Ament and Miles Silva).

Others To Be Considered: Jeff Teat(Cornell), Jimmy Perkins(Robert Morris), Bubba Fairman(Maryland), Asher Noting(High Point), Cole Williams(Johns Hopkins), Anthony DeMaio( Maryland), Jamie Trimboli(Syracuse), Chris Gray(UNC) , Kyle Gallagher(Notre Dame), Jackson Morill(Denver)
