Hey guys back again! I’m gonna make this short and sweet, Its officially mock draft season and with the PLL making the entry draft order official, I am ready to release my official mock entry draft. I will list all of my picks then provide analysis at the end of each round! Cheers to the season! *Note- This was published before the Atlas traded Rob Panell to the Redwoods in exchange for the third pick in the entry draft and a second round pick in the college draft.

The First Round:

  1. Cannons Lacrosse Club- A, Lyle Thompson
  2. Archers Lacrosse Club- SSDM , Zach Goodrich
  3. Redwoods Lacrosse Club- F/O, Alex Wodall
  4. Waterdogs Lacrosse Club- G, Sean Sconone
  5. Chrome Lacrosse Club- D, Ben Randall
  6. Atlas Lacrosse Club- A, Randy Staats
  7. Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club- SSDM, Isaiah Davis — Allen
  8. Chaos Lacrosse Club- F/O, Max Alder

Analysis : We all know Lyle is the #1 pick. I think the Archers will have to leave either Domonique Alexander or Mark McNeil unprotected and Goodrich could slot right in as a replacement for either one. I was between Max Adler and Alex Wodall to fill the face-off needs for the Woods and Chaos I think coach Nat may opt for the younger option with his pick but its honestly a coin pick. I still think the Chrome need to pick up one more pole and Randy Staats could be the first piece in what ends up a re-build for the Atlas offense and IDA fills the slot left by Ty Warner’s retirement for the Whips.

The Second Round:

  1. Cannons Lacrosse Club- G, Nick Marrocco
  2. Archers Lacrosse Club- D/LSM,Micheal Rexrode
  3. Redwoods Lacrosse Club- A, Dan Buccaro
  4. Waterdogs Lacrosse Club- A, Bryce Wasserman
  5. Chrome Lacrosse Club- G, Brian Phipps
  6. Atlas Lacrosse Club- D/LSM, Liam Byrnes
  7. Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club- M, Challen Rogers
  8. Chaos Lacrosse Club- M, Mikie Schlosser

Analysis: It would be a crime if Coach Quirk doesn’t get his guy Nick Maracco at goalie, Rexrode could be a good plug and play either at close or LSM for the Archers. The Woods add a right to the attack line in Bucarro who I think would pair nicely with either himself or Jules Heningburg coming out of the box. If I’m the Waterdogs I give myself another offensive weapon in Wasserman, Kirean Mcardle can play almost anywhere on offense and Zach Currier will make things work and get his points in one way or another. I’m not fully sold that the Atlas protect Kyle Hartzell and Byrnes could be a solid younger option. If you’re the Whips you’re taking the best player on the board and I can see it already that being Challen Rogers hitting Mike Chanenchuck for a two or hitting Zeddy Ballgame on the crease. Schlosser adds another downhill threat for the Chaos.

The Third Round:

  1. Cannons Lacrosse Club- A/M, Colin Heacock
  2. Archers Lacrosse Club- A/M, Tommy Palesek
  3. Redwoods Lacrosse Club- LSM, CJ Costabille
  4. Waterdogs Lacrosse Club- SSDM- Nick Manis
  5. Chrome Lacrosse Club- M, Andrew Kew
  6. Atlas Lacrosse Club- SSDM, Mark Ellis
  7. Whipsnakes Lacrosse Club- D, Warren Jeffrey
  8. Chaos Lacrosse Club- A, Ryan Lee

Analysis: Everyone wants to pencil in Heacock in a Whips uniform but don’t forget how well he played with Lyle back in 2019. The Archers could loose Ryan Ambler and Palsek would be the best fit available. The Redwoods get a savvy veteran LSM in Costabille while the Waterdogs use Manis to continue to build out their defense. If I’m the Chrome and Whipsnakes I just take the best player still available and Ellis could come in right away and improve the Atlas defense. I think Andy Towers surprises everyone and takes Ryan Lee with a plan for him in mind.

There is a plethora of talent coming over from the MLL to the PLL. These coaches will have their hands full trying to build out their rosters. I look forward to watching how the rest of the PLL off-season pans out as these coaches build out their rosters up until training camp and into the start of the season.
